Jonson Sun, Chief Executive Officer

Jonson Sun is a seasoned financial executive with deep experience in asset management, private placements, and scaling high-impact companies. He co-founded GIC Merchant Bank in 2013, growing it into a multi-line financial platform overseeing more than $3B in client assets and completing roughly $300M in annual private placements. In 2016, he launched GIC Merchant Banking Corp. (GICMB), focusing on funding and expanding mission-driven businesses across Africa, the Middle East, and North America. His work spans consumer health care, addiction and mental health recovery, regenerative agriculture, e-commerce, and sustainability. Jonson has also served as a director or advisor to companies including Well Health Technologies, Emerge Commerce Inc., Zefiro Methane Corp., and Tio Networks.

David Kean

David is a seasoned investment professional and Registered Dealing Representative, recognized for deep capital markets knowledge and a client-centric approach. He has over two decades within the Canadian financial services industry with expertise in retail asset management, private placements, and investor relations. Holder of the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.

Alan Siau

Alan Siau, Chief Compliance Officer: Alan has experience implementing regulatory compliance within both Canadian and U.S. financial markets. He has served as the Chief Compliance Officer at a Canadian portfolio management firm and at the U.S. subsidiary of a dual-registered investment dealer, where he managed cross-border compliance activities and regulatory reporting. He has contributed to the development of practical compliance frameworks that reflect current regulatory expectations and operational needs. Committed to compliance education, Alan has created and facilitated training programs aimed at improving staff awareness, encouraging ethical practices, and supporting a culture of accountability.

Joyce Zhang, Head of Operations

Joyce Zhang, CPA (Canada, US), brings over 15 years of financial and operational leadership across technology, financial services, manufacturing, and e-commerce. She has held senior roles in both public and private companies, leading major finance system transformations, IFRS reporting, and the development of robust internal controls. Her experience includes supporting IPO readiness, optimizing tax structures, and guiding organizations through periods of rapid growth and operational change. Joyce began her career in public accounting and advisory before moving into corporate leadership, where she oversaw complex global finance operations. She is recognized for building scalable finance functions that enable strategic decision-making and long-term value creation.
